The floors look great in the photos, but I was lucky enough to see them in person and they are outstanding. What craftsmanship and true professionals to the craft.
The sustainability angle here is really smart, reusing existing materials insted of replacing them entirely. Old growth pine with tight grain patterns is basically impossible to get today, so you already had something valuable right there. The contrast between new and restored floors across the different rooms must create some interesting visual flow too.
The differences in color and grain definitely add visual interest. David and Charlie treated all the floors with Loba oil, which allows for a consistent matte finish throughout.
I’m loving the dream you two are living, Brian! So values consistent. The home that I owned in Milwaukee was built in 1900 and had original pine cupboards in what became the kitchen. It was my favorite part of the house.
The genuine vision Brian had was our main motivator. No minced words, a true desire for authenticity, and a level of gratitude & excitement rarely displayed by homeowners. We loved every part of this journey. Brian allowed us a LOT of liberty on this project, injecting his vision along the way giving us positive emotions that we tried to bring to life thru the flooring. I think Brian, Charlie and I, and the rest of the team (the TEAM!!! 💙) made his vision a reality, in the most Genuine way.

The floors are wonderful. The story is even better. Congrats on the house & the vision.
Those floors are spectacular! Gotta love honest craftsmanship and well-handled wood.
What a wonderful journey. The floors are better than perfect, bringing the past, present and future together!
Beautiful floors Brian and Sophie!
